Charles J Stewart

Charles J. Stewart, 77, of Port Saint Lucie, FL died Thursday February 7, 2013 at home.

He was born on April 10, 1935 in St. Louis, MO and has been a resident of Saint Lucie County since 1989 coming from Long Island, NY.

Charles was retired from the hospital business as Director of Food Service.

He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, President of The Brotherhood, Trustee and a former member of the Men’s Chorus. Charles was also a member of the Martin Luther King Committee and the Masonic Lodge of NY.

Survivors include his wife, Saundra Stewart, of Port Saint Lucie, FL; sons, Kevin Charles Stewart, of NY; Shawn Joseph Stewart, of Port Saint Lucie, FL; daughter, Renell Frances Stewart, Tampa, FL; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Stewart Mosley, father, Frank Hamilton, and sister, Rose Marie Smith.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6PM and a memorial service will begin at 6 to 7PM Friday February 15, 2013 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday February 16, 2013 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
