Barbara Jean Ponders, 70, of Fort Pierce, FL died Monday February 18, 2013 at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
She was born on March 4, 1942 in Fort Pierce, FL and was a native of Saint Lucie County.
Barbara was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Missionary Baptist Church. Her hobbies were cooking, collecting Royal Dalton China, watching western, and taking care of grandchildren, watching Miami Heat basketball, gardening, and going out to eat.
Survivors include her husband, Willie C. Ponders of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Delores Andrews-Scott of Fort Pierce, FL; Mallissa (Alvin) Hamilton of Port Saint Lucie, FL; brothers, John L. King of Blakely, GA; James Andrews, and Sam Andrews both of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Willie V. Whittey, Lonnie McMillian, Margie McMillian of Fort Pierce, FL; Rev. Roberta Andrews, Dorothy Andrews both of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Carolyn Andrews of Fort Pierce, FL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Girlie Mae King and Sam Andrews.
NO VIEWING. A funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday March 2, 2013 at East FL Primitive Baptist Assn. Temple, 3950 Juantia Avenue. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stone Brothers Funeral Home.
