Avelino A. Rivera, 87, of Port Saint Lucie, FL died Saturday February 23, 2013 at home.
Avelino was born on February 8, 1926 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico and has been a resident of Saint Lucie County since 1990 coming from Fort Lauderdale, FL.
He was retired from the Garrett Air Research business as a tool bender.
Avelino was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a participant in the Hayes Children Fund.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Rivera, of Port Saint Lucie, FL; sons, Anthony Rivera, Roger Rivera, stepson, Gerald Bentley, Sr., of Port Saint Lucie, FL; four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held 3 to 7PM Friday March 1, 2013 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 800 Avenue C, Fort Pierce. Burial will be held 11:15AM Monday March 4, 2013 at South FL National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.
